Dragonfly 2
Spyderco’s Dragonfly 2 has always set a high standard of
ergonomics and pocket-friendly size, but the new Dragonfly 2
Emerson Opener adds exceptional convenience to that formula.
Unlike many smaller knives that are difficult to deploy one handed,
the Emerson Opener’s integral hook snags the top of the pocket
to automatically open the blade as the knife is drawn. This rapid
deployment method complements the blade’s Trademark Round
Hole, which also provides ambidextrous one-handed opening.
The VG-10 stainless steel blade’s full-flat grind reduces friction
while cutting, and its textured index-finger choil provides additional
grip options for varying hand sizes. The knife’s distinctive gray
handle is injection molded from lightweight fiberglass-reinforced
nylon (FRN) and complemented by Spyderco’s signature Bi-
Directional Texturing pattern. It also houses a sturdy back lock
mechanism that locks the blade securely open during use. For
rapid deployment out of either pocket, the Dragonfly 2 Emerson
Opener includes a reversible wire clip that can be configured for
ambidextrous tip-up carry. A truly high-speed version of one of
Spyderco’s most popular models, this Dragonfly 2 satisfies the
